FAQ's
Q:Do you offer local pickup?
A: yes - local Winnipeg pickup is available from my studio located at 75 Albert st 3rd floor. Pickup hours are Fridays 11-6 Saturdays 11-5
same day pickup is not available
Note: orders that are not picked up within 3 months of pickup notice will be put back into stock and no refunds for the unclaimed items are given.
Q: I just placed an order, but I didn’t receive a confirmation email. Was my order placed?
Don’t fret! If you didn’t receive a confirmation email, it’s a good idea to check your junk mail/ spam folder. The confirmation email is automated, so if your order went through you should receive one. Sometimes for whatever reason they get filtered in there. But please check those junk mail folders!
Q: I just placed an order when will it ship/be available for pickup?
I do my best to pack up orders + ship within 1-3 business days of order placement.
pickup orders are packed up and available for pickup Fridays 11-6 and Saturdays 11-5. Please note I am not able to accommodate requests for same day pickup
sometimes during market season this can change a bit
Q: Do you do custom work?
A: So flattered that you would trust me with your vision! That being said, I cannot accommodate custom work. Thanks for your understanding!
This includes : changes to my original designs, custom stamping/engraving. However, I can usually change the length of a chain within a few inches at no extra cost *some restrictions apply*. Please reach out prior to purchasing for this service. It is very important to arrange this before placing your order. Notes left at checkout for extending chain will not be honoured.
Q: Ack! I lost an earring! Can I purchase just one to replace it?
A: If your earring is a simple threader style then purchasing just one earring could be an option depending on materials available. If it is an earring made with repurposed (patterned) brass or silver, so sorry but I cannot accommodate the request.
Q: I am organizing a fundraiser/ social. Will you donate an item for our silent auction?
A: I simply get to many requests of this nature to accommodate them. I believe in making personal monetary donations regularly. Some of the Winnipeg organizations I have supported most recently:
Rainbow Resource Centre, Sunshine House, Main Street Project, Ka Ni Kanichihk, The National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation, and Women’s Health Clinic.
Q: Do you do repairs?
A: If an item arrives damaged, please reach out as soon as you can and I will happily repair/replace the item. Thankfully this doesn't happen very often, but it's nice to know if it does!
If you have an item I've made that is well loved and needs some attention, I am always happy to do a repair. I take them on a case by case basis, and depending on the extent of the repair, there may be a small charge to do the work.
I don’t offer repairs on jewelry I didn’t make
Please note that I cannot be responsible for regular wear and tear on an item and jewelry is delicate so it should be treated, worn and stored with care.
for tips on how to care + store your jewelry please refer to the jewelry care section.
Q: How is my order packaged?
A: Minimizing waste and reusing recyclable materials is important to me, so I do my best to pack your order with as little waste as possible.
All orders come packaged in a cotton cloth bag and paper packing materials are used when necessary for extra protection.
The mailers I use are 100% recycled paperboard - 90% of which is post-consumer recycled content. They are fully recyclable and naturally biodegradable. The boxes I use are 100% recycled content, 95% post-consumer waste and curbside recyclable. The extra paper material included is also recyclable.
I do occasionally use plastic tape, but only when I absolutely have to. My mailing stickers are all recyclable.
Q: What kind of metal are your earring hooks? Are they safe for my sensitive ears?
With comfort and safety in mind, I use a few different metals for my designs. All are safe - lead and nickel free. As for the sensitivity, it depends on your own individual nature so please check the descriptions for what metal is used. But all designs are made with either : gold fill, sterling silver, or surgical steel.
Q: What is gold fill?
14K gold fill is a professional jewelers grade metal. It is a favourite to use because it has the look and feel of solid gold, but comes at a lower cost. Your gold filled jewelry will not tarnish, chip, or peel. It is just like wearing solid gold and is safe for sensitive ears.
Gold filled is NOT plated. It is solid 14K gold mechanically bonded to a brass or sterling silver base.
There is 100 times more gold in gold filled than in something that has been gold plated. This layer of gold must be a minimum of 1/20th of the total metal weight to be called gold filled.
